Someone please make a Peter Watts authored podiobook

Late last year, I read Blindsight by Peter Watts. It was one of the strangest and most compelling hard SF novels (with aliens and vampires– yeah, go figure) I’ve read. When I finished, I felt like maybe I was a little too dumb to fully “get it”, but that a deeper and perhaps smarter portion of me really enjoyed the book.

I found out today that Peter has decided to release all three of his novels, including Blindsight, and eleven short stories under a Creative Commons license. How friggin’ cool is that? Cool enough that I want one of you out there reading this to reach out to Peter, ‘splane to him what it is that we are doing, and beg him to allow you to make a podiobook version of one of the three books.

Or maybe, with luck, a concentrated group effort might talk him into doing the reading himself? At any rate, I’d love to have some or all of his books up on the site. Who’s game?

I visited the website of Peter Watts, read the excerpt of Blindsight and sent him an email with a link to this site.

So now Mr. Watts has at least one polite request to read his book for Podiobooks.

I stopped by here on my way to check out the library collection under the name Watts.

    Gotta run.
