God Wears Many Skins

Podiobooks.com presents Jabez van Cleef’s newest collection of poetic interpretations of myth, “God Wears Many Skins: Sami Myth and Culture in Poems”

The Sami, who call themselves “the real people,” are nomadic indigenous people of Northern Scandinavia and adjacent areas of Russia. A wealth of songs and stories told by Sami shamans and wizards are characterized by great reverence for our natural environment, which can form a strong spiritual foundation for sustainable living.

    Great presentation, great narration.

However, I should have liked a little more truth in advertising. How many of these stories were of Sami origin I don’t rightly know, but I do know that several were most absolutely certainly not.

    Definitely good work, anyhoo.
