Do you follow our Twitter posts?
In the last two days, it seems like mass media has “discovered” the magic of Twitter. I just finished reading a New York Times article that declared Second Life dead, but praised Twitter. Interesting.
I’m a fan of Twitter, and we use it heavily here on Podiobooks.com. With every new book launched and every new episode added to a current title, we post a tweet. While you can keep your eye on our blog (or subscribe to the blog’s RSS feed) to keep updated when new books come out, it won’t tell you that we’ve added new episodes to existing in-progress books. You have to follow the home page for that. Or — now — you can keep up with us on Twitter and get it all.
Final thought: I’m not sure that keeping up with Podiobooks.com is the best reason to get involved with Twitter. Sure, it’s free and a snap to use, but it doesn’t fit in with everyone’s workflow. I’ve made it a big part of my daily digital routine (follow me here) and so have countless others. So give it a shot and see how you like it. Welcome to the ever changing world.

I run the SFF Audio twitter, and every time a few more people add themselves as a follower. I am not sure if it’s brought traffic to the site, but I do think as you do that it’s a good tool.

Second Life – dead? Twitter – alive and kicking? I don’t know if I would compare these two online services given that they are so different. As it is, the die-hard fans will stick with SL regardless of other fads. As someone not currently a user of Twitter, I can see the interest though. It seems quick and easy to use. There is more of a need for programming knowledge if you want to take advantage of SL.

I’m listening, though I’m not sure what I’m using it for yet.
