Phil Rossi, author of Crescent, was recently featured in the D.C. entertainment magazine OnTap. The article leads with:
The optimist calls it “doing it for the love.” The pessimist, “I’m not getting any money out of this.”
Phil Rossi does it for the love. The 28-year-old Ashburn resident has spent the last few years of his life with local rockers The Pharmacy Prophets, playing at all the DC-area mainstays — The Black Cat, Jammin’ Java, Iota, etc., as well as working on his own side project, Phil Rossi and the Bad Habit. Being in two local rock outfits is usually enough to qualify as the “it” when doing it for the love. But to put the cherry on top, Rossi has also written his first book. And created a soundtrack. And he’s delivering it all by podcast. For free.
It’s a good article covering music, motivation and working as an artist. Way to go, Phil!
