Scott Sigler to break milestone

If you know anything about podcasting novels, then you know that Scott Sigler leads the charge. He was one of the first folks to try this medium, and has arguably become the most successful — if not most well-known — podiobook author.

Sometime today, one more person will subscribe to his very first book, Earthcore, right here at Podiobooks.com. And when they do, they’ll be the one to push Sigler over the top on one of our metrics:

Now this isn’t earthbreaking stuff to Scott, who has managed to convince over 30,000 to listen to him give away his various forms of fiction — that 9,999 comes after he completed his initial run of EARTHCORE, then put the archived version up on our site. This turning of the meter, however, is rather symbolic for us here at Podiobooks.com. You see, we only count the number of people who subscribe via our custom feed system, so that they start the book from the very first chapter and get to listen to it over time — just as if Scott was starting the podcast all over again. The number is not representative of the (literally) countless people who listen to the book via direct downloads from our site, or who have found the “old school” feed on iTunes, Podcast Pickle or other various directories.

So is it everyone? Nope. But are we still stoked? You betcha. Happy Christmas to us! Now to make sure Chris’ counter can handle five digits…

Not to quibble, but surely he’s PASSING this milestone, not breaking it?

    That is quibbling.
