Downtime sucks

Here we just went and invested tons of time, energy and effort into getting our media files hosted on a much more reliable system (hi, Libsyn Pro!)… only to have the webserver host take a massive nose dive for six hours or so. (hi, Surpass Hosting!)

The good news is that we seem to be back up and running. The bad news is that there wasn’t a lot that could have been done. Guess a serious power outage happened in the hosting city, one that took out more of their resources than they had hoped. But since this has been the only major outage on their part, I’m willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. Bad stuff happens. We (and lots of others) got caught by it.

Sorry for the trouble. Hope you’re still here?

E.

It’s okay E. Over here in Asia, we deal with earth quakes, tidal waves and typhoons on an almost daily basis. Since no one was killed or injured, we’ll let you off this time! :(

Glad the downtime’s not a regular thing!

I heard about podiobooks, came over to have a first look around and there you were: Gone!

But hey – a quick trip to the beach (its not all quakes and waves here in Asia :) and now I’m back and so are you, and the site looks to be full of good stuff. I’m off to browse.

Evo, I’m just very glad you’re okay! I know you’re doing you’re best to keep us, listeners/readers very happy and we still are. Keep up the good work, we’re not going anywhere! At least, I’m not. Here to stay, so keep ‘em coming – whenever the hosting server is working ;)
I’m still a big fan of podiobooks. You’ll have to do much worse than this to get me to leave!

Wow. Look at all you fabulous people concerned with our well-being. I’m touched! :)

Of course I’m still here… It’d take more than that to keep me away!
