Support DRM-free sources. And steal this comic

Every single one of our audiobooks are DRM-free. They are now, and they always will be. Which means we’ll never ask you to be a criminal.

Mad props to xkcd.

When I buy from iTunes, it’s only the DRM-free “iTunes Plus” tracks. They’re also compressed at a higher bitrate, so you’re getting a better product.

    Also, Magnatune and eMusic.

    And, of course, Podiobooks.com.

As much as I agree and support the idea of no DRM, don’t you think it’s a bit misleading to suggest that you should pirate because you’re a criminal either way? Has any individual been prosecuted because they change operating systems and they reload their music from CD’s that they had burned? I’d say that is so improbable as to be an irrelevant concern. That’s like saying if you’re gonna drive over 65MPH, you might as well drive 95MPH rather than 66MPh since you’re breaking the law either way. The potential consequences are rather different in several ways, just as they are in the music example.

I was a guest at a con Randall was guest of honor at this summer. Nice guy. One of the best parts of the xkcd comic: on the site itself, you get extra chuckles when you roll your mouse over the picture and read his comments in the mouseover text.
