7th Son trilogy movie rights optioned by Warner Bros.

Step 1: Write a damn good book.
Step 2: Pour your heart and soul into making a fantastic serialized audiobook version.
Step 3: Relentlessly connect with your fans
Step 4: Get paid big bucks in movie options by Warner Bros.

That’s what happened for J.C. Hutchins. I’ll let him tell you the rest:

I’ve been sitting on this news for months, but just now received the green light to share: the 7th Son trilogy has been optioned by Warner Bros. for motion picture development.

This is gobsmackingly awesome news, as I — and likely you — always dreamed of the possibility of seeing the likes of John, Father Thomas, Kilroy2.0 and John Alpha on the big screen. We’re one step closer to that.

To be clear: Warner Bros.’ option of the 7th Son trilogy does not guarantee that a film series will be made, but the deal entitles the studio to exercise the right to do so sometime in the next three years. The possibility alone is terrific.

Damned terrific, Hutch. For the rest of you: Go listen to the 7th Son trilogy now, so you can say “I knew him when…”.

7th son was BRILLIANT. I am confident that this will make a spectacular movie or series.

Excellent, but not a big surprise since it was just a matter of time. The books were too good to not make it either a serie or a movie. So much can be done with special effects etc. I am very happy for the author. I enjoyed the serie so much I hope others will.

    tks

Excellent news, I am really pleased that there is a possibility of seeing this on the big screen. The books are so compelling that it would be madness for the studio not to put this into film. Congrats to J.C

I always pictured them as a long running TV series.
They would knock the likes of Lost and 24 into a cocked hat but the idea of a movie is also awsome.
    Congratulations J.C.
