Predestination and Other Games of Chance: Book One of The Antithesis Progression
Please welcome J. Daniel Sawyer to the site. Today he begins releasing the serialized audiobook version of Predestination and Other Games of Chance: Book One of The Antithesis Progression:
In the Port of Call bar on Space Station Sidon a man sits at a card game. He’s ruthless, he’s unforgiving, and he almost never loses. His name is Alex Hart, and he is waiting for someone.
Reuben Briggs never could play nice with others. As a professor he couldn’t stay out of trouble. As the National Security Advisor he couldn’t resist using other people’s secrets to leverage his agenda. He always attracted the wrong kind of attention, and in 2125 that attention turned deadly. A Lunar judge wants his secrets, a corrupt senator wants him dead, the Green Lady wants his fealty, and Alex Hart wants to play cards with him.
Walking into the Port of Call, Briggs thinks he’s left all the bounty hunters behind him. But in the looking-glass world above the gravity well, he’s about to discover that survival, like poker, is just another sport.
And in this contest, it’s not whether you win or lose. It’s how you rig the game.
The first five episodes of this audiobook are in the default feed, with more to be added as they come out. Or you can pick your own update schedule with one of our custom feeds. Either way, it’s a free audiobook!

Predestination: A Podiobook Not Just for Listening
The following is an extract from the full review which is available for download from: http://tinyurl.com/ocyawk
Don’t listen to Predestination – Immerse yourself into Predestination. Predestination is something that one can only experience.
It has: A great story; Fantastic characters; An interesting, creative, feasible and believable future “universe”; Quality voice acting; Superb production; and FANTASTIC MUSIC.
Dan Sawyer is actually the co-author – the other co-author is Danny Schade, who provides the original soundtrack, truly unbelievable work from this hitherto unknown musician.

I typically wait until a podiobook is completed before I begin to listen.
I really hate to become enthralled and then have to drum my fingers waiting.
But I was too intrigued.
This is sort of a blending of an audio drama and an audio book and sounds very professionally polished.
The plot, itself, foreshadows an intricate story and has whetted my appetite for more…so just keep them coming..

This beautiful story is set in a relatively near future, with humanity stepping out into our solar system. Two space stations, the Moon and Mars are all that humanity has grasped among the stars at this point in time. It is character-driven hard SF, beautifully rich in linguistic polish, historical depth and stunning presentation.
There were two descriptions floating around for the book.
Description 1: Bladerunner meets the Maltese Falcon
Description 2: George R.R. Martin writes the american revolution in space.
I heartily recommend.

Very professionally written and read. Sawyer pours himself into his work, and totally gets that presentation is as important as the writing itself. I look forward to the rest of the series, and I hope his success is as bounteous as his titles.

Ping! I’ve noticed that the authors’ website has the complete version of this book, but podiobooks is only up to episode nine (which, regrettably, I’ve caught up to.
. Is there a chance of podiobooks updates soon?

Hi hope so, Dave. We rely on the authors to get their episodes to us. Try emailing the author directly and let’s see if we can’t get this one completed!

Hey all –
Sorry for the delay in finishing the Podiobooks version (which has a lot of minor changes and audio sweetening in it compared to the version that originally podcast from my website.
Due to the holidays and some related personal craziness, I inadvertently found myself swamped, but now – huzzah! – there is light at the end of the tunnel. I’m going to have time to finish the touch-up work on the mixes and finish the Podiobooks version by the end of Feb at the latest, which means you’ll start seeing batches of new episodes about ten days from now.
Sorry for the delays!
