I completely ripped through this novel. It was so captivating. So well read, voice acting was superb. I would not change a single thing, I have no negative feedback. Nothing that I would do differently or like to see differently. Amazing characters. Amazing plot. Amazing writer. Amazing reader. Amazing work of fiction. Simply amazing.

This is one of the best books that I have listened to. Totally captivating from the first chapter. This author is a gifted story teller and illustrator that brings the story to life. CW has found his talent and I am thankful for that.

When I read the description of this book and seemed to be focused on religion I was almost turned off. Once I got into it though I realized it’s much like “The Da Vinci Code” in that it just uses religious mythology as a framework for building the story.
The narration was good and the story was a real page turner. Listened through the whole thing and found myself entertained.
August 30th, 2010 at 11:19 am
Thank you, Chris. I’m glad you mentioned that. Some of the characters are religious, but the book itself is not about religion.

I have loved listening to this book. It is so well written and read. This is so outside of my usual reading genre that I probably never would have tried it if I had not read all of these great reviews. I will always pick up any book by this author.

Thank you very much, Blair,Chris, Joe, Carey and Tristen for the wonderful compliments. I don’t know how the other writers feel, but for me It’s the greatest pleasure to check and find another review.

Wow. This book is awesome. Download it right now.

Very good book. The reading was very good. The story kept my attention. I would recommend it to anyone. I am looking forward to read the second part to see where the story goes from here. I hope you have an audio version soon. Having said that I will also have to say that the ending was predictable, though I expected it to be a bit more dramatic that it was. Also I will say that you used a lot of literary license in the use of technology. I don’t think that we have technology at the present that can anywhere near match what you expect it to do.

I got this off of Itunes and I cannot begin to tell you how much I LOVED this story. I was expecting not to like it but just Chris said its not a “religious” book. Man oh man I can’t wait to listen to the second one!!
September 12th, 2010 at 9:46 pm

I just finsihed this book and I’m dying to get my hands on book 2. But I can not find it anywhere on the net. Author blog stated it was on iTunes could not be found.

Sorry Lee. I’ve made a few changes and have decided to re-record it. It should only be a few weeks.
Thank you.

Enjoyed the book. Original ideas, liked the different vignettes giving perspectives of different characters around the world. I like that I can’t quite figure out the author’s religious stance though the spirituality and moral principles come through. Sci Fi and the Bible = rich source material for sure. CW I hope you are happy with your accomplishment. I am looking forward to the next book.

Stumbled onto Son of Man, thought I’d give it a listen…couldn’t quit!! Grabbed Son of Man 2 before I was finished with the first one so that I wouldn’t have to take a break, finished that one. Now? I’m jonesing, having cold sweats, cramps, the jitters…waiting on the next one!!!
Great storylines, great narration, great plot twists…everything one would want.

***Message to Smashwords readers***
Due to the excessive size of The Son of Man. Two separate novels have been created to replace the one. The second book in the series will now be called: The Son of Man 1.5, Into the Flames.
This does not effect the Son of Man series Podiobooks.

One of the better Podiobooks I’ve listened too. I was drawn to the story based on the premise and, by reading the comments, the fact that it wasn’t too religious. With a story like this religion will play a major part but it doesn’t hit you over the head, which is plus.
The story is very well written and very easy to follow, although I did find some of the dialogue oddly written (there was just something off with the flow of some conversations, but that could just be the inner writer in me coming out. Bill, if you want more details let me know and I’ll explain what I mean.) but that didn’t stop me from enjoying what I was listening too.
Setting the story in a world about to end was also a stroke of genius, it added so much flavor and tension to a story that could have easily been dull. Although at times it felt like I was listening to two different books (One with the people trying to take or protect the Jesus Clone and one where the world is dealing with the impending threat of the asteroid) I’m going to trust the author that in the second book it’ll all come together somehow.

I picked up the first book less than a week ago because I was looking for something different. I just finished the second and eager for the third. Both books pulled me in and I’ve been reccomending them to all myfriends. Keep up the great work. You’re an amazing writer.

Introducing: The Son of Man 3, The Heylik!
Revelation 11:1-14, speaks of two great prophets emerging on the world scene just prior to Christ’s return. They will wield spiritual powers unprecedented in human history. They will be able to alter the world geopolitically and astound the nations. The Bible calls them the two witnesses, the two olive trees, Joshua and Zerubbabel. The Son of Man will call them…
The Heylik.
Come and visit the new Son of Man 3 web page with excerpts.

Hello Mr. Johnson,
I just finished reading book three and loved it. I’m curious to know if you plan on continiuing with the series or if book three was the final one??
May 4th, 2011 at 4:43 pm
Thank you for asking, Sir.
I’m a little bit undecided as to whether to go on or not. Book 3 pretty much ties all the ends up for nearly all the characters but still leaves a lot of room to continue. I suppose it all comes down to how people respond to these three books.
I’m glad you liked book 3!
May 5th, 2011 at 12:16 pm
It was a very good read and I do like the way you ended it. You left plenty of storyline if you decide to continue with the series which I hope you do. It’s a very interesting story line.

The entire Son of Man series, including The Son of Man 3, The Heylik, is now available in paperback @ Amazon.com.
Watch for The Son of man 4, Joshua!
