This day in podiobook history – Morevi
Six years ago today, the very first episode of what would come to be known as a “podiobook” hit an RSS feed. The feed was hosted by The Dragon Page, an author interview radio show/podcast that still exists today. That episode belonged to Morevi, a book written by Tee Morris that still exists as a podiobook today.
It was that action and a host of others that directly lead to what we have today. Over 500 serialized audiobooks have been created and released as podcasts by a multitude of authors and producers. We’re happy to list just about all of them here on Podiobooks.com. What a fun, strange trip it’s been.
Looking back, I guess you could almost blame Tee for the server crash over the last several days. As the evidence above clearly shows… he started it.

Yes, I loved the Morevi book, and was saddened to hear the “remastered” version. While you can hear which portions were changed/re-vocalized, that’s the problem – there’s a clear difference in the new and reused material, from the audio quality to the subtle jump in volume in the newer material. It’s the audio equivalent of patching old jeans with new or mismatched fabric. I love your work Tee and would like to work with you myself sometime, but I would have preferred a homogeneous recording to a mixed remaster and wish that the original were still available.

I take full responsibility. Gladly.
Thanks, Evo, and thank you all for listening.

Asher,
Morevi: Remastered was an experiment. Simply put. For some it worked. For others, it didn’t. In the end, I learned a lot and am still very proud of the end result.
I am also thrilled that you took the time to listen to it (again) and give me honest feedback. Hopefully, you did enjoy some of the restored scenes. (It was nice to be able to go back and add in things like the mud fight and full love scene.)
And it all started today. Wow! :^)

Thanks Tee – it’s criticism, which is always easy to give and never as easy to take. That said, I still love the book and would recommend it to friends. If you ever need another voice, let me know!

What, are we going to end up with arguments between podcasters over who caused the crash, with all of you claiming responsibility?!!!?
Oughta be fun.
Back to the point here – six years. Wow. The world at large is only beginning to realize that such a thing as a podcast exists, and calls it new technology. (What do we call it if it’s no longer quite bleeding edge?)
At any rate, it’s been six GOOD years and I am glad for the ones I saw myself. Thanks, everybody!
