New and complete! Other People’s Heroes by Blake M. Petit
Blake is back, this time with Other People’s Heroes. Superheroes, anyone?
Josh Corwood has spent his life admiring the superheroes that protect Siegel City. He’s wanted to join them, wanted to be like them… but eventually, had to settle for reporting on them from the sidelines. When an undiscovered talent reignites his hope to join the world’s protectors, he suddenly discovers that their world isn’t everything he’d been led to believe. Surrounded by false idols, Josh decides to turn the tables on them and reveal the greatest con game in history… and hopefully, in the process, find the real heroes that have long been gone.

Hi Blake, There’s an unevenness in the sound volume – goes way to loud on some words you emphasize and then its too low on the rest of the phrase to catch what you are saying. Is it possible for you to put the sound files through an adjustment to even out the intensity of volume? It would really help me (painlessly) hear what you are reading. Many thanks, as I like the story. R.

Hey, Rachel. I’m really glad you’re enjoying the story — that means an awful lot to me. I’m sorry you’re having trouble with the audio, though. I did run the files through a levelator to balance out the volume, and listening myself I haven’t noticed anything. Is it a particular episode that you noticed had a problem, or all of them? And is anyone else having a similar issue?

Great story and narration. I am hoping for a sequel some day. On a sidenote I did not notice any problems with the audio levels of the story. Thank you for your time and work.

This is a fun, entertaining book. I enjoyed it thoroughly. it has likeable characters (admittedly i had to backtrack and re-listen a few times to keep tabs/track of them all), a good plot, a mystery or three… If you liked ‘Playing for Keeps’ and ‘How to Succeed in Evil’, you’ll like this book. (and vice versa). i also noted some audio oddities in a few chapters and made a mental note of which ones…but forgot. it was like overlapping sound for short periods of time. and it wasn’t the 5 guys talking at once. so only 4 stars for that. otherwise great!

I just wanted to let you know how much I loved this book. I’d love to visit Siegel City, after listening to this it seems like a real city in another world.
Thanks for making me feel alive with every single chapter.

A truly excellent super hero adventure that incorporates a Pro Wrestling type mythos into a believable super hero world. The ideas are fresh and the plot, truly twisty without being contrived. I was truly surprised in places.
I’m looking forward to more books by this author.

This is a really great book. The pacing, in particular, was great. After the first couple of episodes each one left me itching to download the next, until the end.
Will wait until November to listen to the Christmas title, andI hope Mr. Petit continues to produce podiobooks!

Very enjoyable. At first I had concerns. The reading pace. Is very fast. During the first two episodes I almost set it aside, but then I became used to it and started really enjoying the story and presentation. The only other notable sound issue is email or other notifications. On occasion a number of beeps are heard, things that came over the computer while the author was recording. As for the story, the writing, the editing, all very good to superior. Characters are well fleshes and the plot moves well. The end left me wanting a sequel.

Blake, I will tell that this is a great story told in an amazing fashion. The pacing is on the spot and the twist at the ending is well done. I will be reviewing this book for our podcast and I will be giving it high praise. I look forward to the continuing stories of these characters and this setting. Good job.
