Mary wrote an excellent story with an interesting concept. It took a little while for the story to start moving, but that was probably because the concept of “affinity groups” was so foreign to me. If you have the same problem when listening to this story, stick with it because the story unfolds wonderfully. I look forward to Mary’s next story.

Thank you all for the kind words! My second fantasy novel, The Bone Road, will be published May, 2012, and I will be doing a podcast version once the ebook and the paperback versions are done.

Enjoyed the story a lot. There was a bit of contrast between the tone of the story and the delivery of the reader. The reading was a bit too matter-of-fact. It is not reader’s theater but they shouldn’t fight. I am looking forward to the next work!

Yes, that’s an accurate comment. Not to mention a kind one. I’m upgrading the recording equipment, and I’ll try for a bit more emphasis, character differentiation, and drama in the next one. I’m glad you enjoyed the story.

I really enjoyed the book. I enjoyed the exploration of an ‘alien’ society, although the ‘Commonwealth’ felt a little *too* close to modern day for my tastes. Will definitely look for the next one!

Thank you so much fir sharing this beautiful book with us. I really loved the characters as if they were real people and I was fascinated by the idea of the Unities. You did an amazing job of creating a brand new culture that seems like it’s always excisted. I, for one, would love to live on Danner.
I’m so happy you’ll be podcasting the next book in the series!

Thank you!
However, the next book, The Bone Road, isn’t a “part 2″ of Matcher Rules. It is a completely different fantasy, set in another universe entirely. I hope you enjoy it as much as you enjoyed my first book.

Wonderfully inventive story with multi-leveled political and social context and wide open minded creativity. Looking forward to more of your stories with multi-inflectioned audio too.

Wow, I was totally hooked by the first 7 minutes. This was a truly excellently put together story. Believable. Vivid. Imaginative. I cared for the characters. And, ( the true tribute to an author ) I really, really wanted more. I wanted the story to go on. Mary has a clear voice and I really enjoyed this.
