Just launched: Slab City Blues: A Hymn to Gods Long Dead by Anthony Ryan

Slab City Blues: A Hymn to Gods Long Dead by Anthony RyanThe Slab. A vast orbiting slum where sweat falls in rain and the gene-spliced come in all shapes and sizes.

Inspector Alex McLeod, recently suspended for excessive force and nurturing a growing addiction to bourbon, has been reduced to tending bar when an improbably beautiful vampire comes to him with a bizarre theory: there’s a killer on the Slab, a killer with a liking for recreating ancient myth, in bloody and spectacular fashion.

But who exactly is this vampire, and how does she know so much? And what kind of killer can walk through security systems without a trace, leaving deadly traps for those hunting him?

Very well done! A Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep (Blade Runner,) feel and enough intrigue and action to keep anyone entertained. Looking forward to more.

A very enjoyable listen Slab City Blues is short, direct and without the meaningless rubbish that clutters so many books in the last 20 years. Mr. Ryan reminds me of the great writes whom started in short stories and then expanded to novels.
His voice is clear and has the tone and inflection I would expect of an ex-vet cop in a very hard city. As he reads you can just about feel the city, see the odd shapes and shadows of a time to come.
I’m looking forward to the next outing with Mr. Ryan’s characters.

A fantastic story. The setting and characters are vivid and intriguing. I hope Mr. Ryan puts other stories on podiobooks.
