New release! Tincture, An Apocalyptic Proposition by Matthew D. Jordan

It’s Matthew D. Jordan first podiobook, and the first in a series. Check out Tincture, An Apocalyptic Proposition. Here’s why:

Rhamuel and the last of his family, Abranyah, travel their barren world, shack to shack, selling tinctures to keep a full belly and evading the dogmatists to keep their throats safe. Time has turned funny after The Whatever, an apocalyptic event that few remember and even fewer can explain, danger now as commonplace as the unrecognizable relics of war, and the madman Aphulan—along with an iron rule over his small township—may hold the answers. With a cure for The Sick and a passion to uncover what happened to their world, Rhamuel and Abranyah set off on a journey to the “other place,” the days before The Whatever, and ready themselves for a glimpse into what happened, and what was always meant to happen next.

This is a very enjoyable and intriguing story. The production quality is great as is the listening experience. I look forward to more of these characters and the world. Good work.

Thats funny. The whatever, or actualy Whatever. Like who cares, after the Whatever things suck now. I think I need to listen to this one.:)

I found this book very entertaining. I’m on the last chapter now, if your planning on listening to this book, be prepared to pay attention because the timeline is all over the place (in a good way)

Just had to stop by and say, just finished the last chapter – very satisfying ending! Internet Highfive.

Excellent story and equally excellent sound handling! This is one of the few I’m not going to remove from my iPod! I, generally, am not a fan of music in an audiobook, but it is used sparingly, to great effect, and simply fantastic! It doesn’t really fit in a genre but definitely fits the book. I would be very happy if this book had a sequel, or prequel… time as it is… : )

Fantastic story, upon the first mention of the book and the black coat I had a feeling “The Man in Black” was coming. I loved the Gunslinger series (although was very disappointed at the way Steven King ended it) and you have done it justice, bravo! Looking forward to more “such as it is”.

Well worth o listen for fantasy fans! Excellent solo-read. The convolutions make it hard to get hooked, but after three episodes I enjoyed the podcast very much.

I love this story – a credible yet fresh and twisted set of premises, solid characters, perfect narration.

A great story told really well, thank you.

Dude you rock. I loved this. Piggybacking on other work is a little lazy but not a body has gone to hell for it yet and you won’t be the first. Keep moving.

  13. Charles Says:

Great! I love the link to King, but this is so much more that a spin-off.

I’m a big Stephen King Gunslinger fan, but had no idea there were any references when I first started listening to the audio book. I normally favor audio drama (due to various voices) but the story, the way it moves along, the characters, and fantastic music just hooked me in. Cry your pardon, but I really like the fact the narration is more like a campfire tale than a book. I can’t wait for Season 2. In the interim, I think I am due for a second listen of Season 1. Top notch stuff!

Really enjoyed this book. In fact, of the several titles I’ve listend to from this site, this is my favorite thus far. Loved the King references and most of all, the strange phrases and syntax spoken by the denziens of the Barren which I found intriguing and which really made the story stand out. Look forward to your future work.
